Child Protection Policy
Purpose
This policy establishes Greenwood High School's commitment to protecting all students from harm and ensuring that every child feels safe, respected, and supported within our school environments.
Scope
This policy applies to all staff (teaching and non-teaching), management, volunteers, parents, and any person who interacts with students on school premises or in school-related activities across all five Greenwood campuses.
Safeguarding Measures
- CCTV surveillance covering all campus areas including classrooms, corridors, and entry/exit points
- Police verification and background checks for all staff before employment
- No adult to be alone with a single student in an isolated area
- Controlled visitor access — all visitors must sign in and be accompanied
- Separate and supervised hostel facilities with trained wardens (Hasanparthy)
- Regular training for all staff on child safety and reporting procedures
- Confidential complaint mechanism for students and parents
Reporting a Concern
Any student, parent, or staff member who has a concern about a child's safety must report it immediately to the Campus Principal or the School Management Committee. All reports are treated confidentially and investigated promptly.
Reports may be made in person, by phone, or via email to office@ghs.ac.in. Emergency child safety concerns should be reported to local police (Dial 100) immediately.
Review
This policy is reviewed annually by school management and updated as required by law or best practice guidance.
